Feng Shui Tips for Your Baby's Room

Decorating your baby's room is never easy. You need to figure out how to place and decorate everything inside so that it helps both you and your baby have a pleasant time. Therefore, it is no surprise that a lot of people turn to Feng Shui in order to decorate their baby's room. The benefits of implementing Feng Shui have been talked about so many times that you'd be crazy not to at least have a look at them. Therefore, before you start decorating your home, here are some Feng Shui Tips for Your Baby's Room and some things that you should know about Feng Shui itself.

What you should know about Feng Shui

Before you hear our Feng Shui tips for your baby's room, there are some things about Feng Shui itself that you should be aware of. First off, Feng Shui is not science. Even though some people have the misconception that it is a Chinese science, it is not. Therefore, you shouldn't look at it as such. There are people that will try to convince you about the flow of energy and the impact your items will have in your room on the said flow, but take it with a grain of salt. None of that has been proven by any scientific method so far, and you shouldn't expect it to live up to the demands that Physics and Biology place on their observations. But, that doesn't mean that Feng Shui is bad or useless. Far from it.

How to look at Feng Shui

The reason why you should use Feng Shui in your home is that multiple people have said that it improved their life. Often times in our lives we stumble upon things that are said to have certain benefits. If those things are harmless or pose a minimum risk of harm, you should consider doing them. Even if they do not have a scientific explanation to them. Our ancestors managed to survive simply by figuring out if something works for them or not. There was no science to help them then, and you shouldn't use science to help you explain Feng Shui now. If Feng Shui works for you, great. If not, oh well. You've made your baby's room beautiful if nothing else.

Some Feng Shui tips for your baby's room

Colours

The smart thing to do when decorating your baby's room in a Feng Shui sense, is to have calmness in colour. That means that you shouldn't use any contrasting colours or colours that are too strong. After all, painting a child's bedroom is much different from painting a home office. Use gentle colours that have a complementary overlap between each other. Soft blue, tranquil green, warm yellow... All of those can be great. But, only if they provide a sense of calmness for both you and your baby.

Lighting

Have multiple sources of light. You wouldn't believe how stressful it is for the eyes to have a single ceiling light shine your entire room. It is much more soothing to have multiple sources of light placed all around. That way you can change the shine and angle of the light as you see fit. This will help you be calm and tranquil which is, as you will see in other Feng Shui tips for your baby's room, tremendously important.

4. Let the Sun In!

Bed placement is tremendously important in Feng Shui. Even more so if it is the baby's crib that is in question. The idea is to place the bed as far away from the door as possible. Ideally, you want to place it diagonally from the door and have a solid wall behind the crib. The idea is that the energy in the room will bounce off the thick wall and provide your child with extra energy. But, even if that is not true, the thick wall does isolate noise very well. If you place your child next to a thick wall, and far away from the door, you are putting it as far away from the noise as possible. This can be an important thing as cumulative noise can have a detrimental effect on the baby.

Natural Minerals

Natural minerals and crystals play an important role in Feng Shui. So much so that you have to do considerable research in order to find out which ones are out there and how they influence each other. Once you decide which ones to use, remember that you should always look for calmness and tranquillity. There are minerals that produce stronger energy. It is not advisable that you place them in the child's room, as such energy is more suited for grown-ups. There are also crystals that can greatly benefit your baby, but you need to place them in other places in the house in order for them to have the maximum effect. Consider this even when decorating a small apartment. Finally, always remember to cleanse your crystals as their power will go down if left unattended.

Decor

As we have mentioned before, a child's room should be warm and tranquil. Therefore, you shouldn't place any pointy objects in it. Those invoke harsh energy that is not suited for a small child. If you have nowhere else to place such objects you should get professional packing materials and boxes, and place them in a storage unit. That way they will remain safe and sound until your child grows out of the fragile period of infancy. But, until then, only place round objects that are soft and welcoming. This will not only calm the child but will calm you as well which will have a tremendously beneficial effect on the child. And, remember, the most important of the Feng Shui tips for your baby's room is that if you do not feel well in your child's room, neither will your child. Let that be your most trusted guide.
